New Delhi / Hyderabad: In the exciting IPL season 11, just before the league match ends, the third team of playoff has been found. Yes, last night Kolkata Knight Riders defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by five wickets in the match played at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium.

Earlier, batting first, Hyderabad, with the help of Shikhar Dhawan (50), scored a challenging 173 for Kolkata. The visiting team secured the goal by remaining two balls while remaining five wickets.

For Kolkata, Chris Lynn scored 55 runs in 43 balls. He made four fours and three sixes in his innings. Robin Uthappa contributed 45 runs in 34 balls. Sunil Narine scored 29 runs in 10 balls with the help of four fours and three sixes. Karthik remained unbeaten in 22 balls with the help of one four and a six.

After chasing the challenging goal, Naren and Lynn got off to a good start as expected and scored 3.4 in 3.4 overs. However Shakib did brake this partnership here and caught Naren at the hands of Manish Pandey.

Lynn was picking up from the other end and Uthappa was giving them equal support. Both shared a 69-run partnership for the second wicket. Lynn hit a six off Siddharth Kaul on the first ball of the 14th over, but Manish once again took a great catch from his agility and ended his innings.

Uthappa's shoulders were now the responsibility of winning the team. He got 28 wickets in the Kolkata account for the third wicket with captain Karthik, which proved to be crucial. Although Carlos Brathwaite did not complete Uthappa, he did not complete the half-century and sent the pavilion to the total of 149. Andre Russell could score only four runs.

Nitish Rana (7) was out in the last over. Karthik got Kolkata to a one-run win over the fourth ball of the last over.

Earlier, Hyderabad could have scored a huge score ahead of the 172, but in the last five overs, he just scored 31 runs and lost seven wickets so that he missed the huge score.

Four of the seven wickets fell in the last over in which only four runs came. Young bowler for Kolkata famous Krishna took four wickets out of which three wickets came in the last over.

Dhawan and Srivats Goswami (36) gave the team good start. The duo shared a 79-run partnership for the first wicket together. This partnership was broken by Kuldeep Yadav in the ninth over. He got Goswami caught by Russell.

After Goswami's departure, captain Ken Williamson teamed with Dhawan to keep the team's scoreboard. Both shared a 46-run partnership for the second wicket. Williamson's 17-ball knock of 36 runs with the help of three sixes and one four has been done by Javan Cyrles. They caught Williamson near the border at Russell's hands.

Dhawan also returned to the pavilion after the captain left. On the total score of 141, Krishna's ball was declared leggie. After four runs, Sunil Narine sent Yusuf Pathan (2) to the pavilion. Brathwaite could only make three runs.

Manish Pandey's 25-run innings ended at the first ball of the last over. Shakib Al Hasan (10), Rashid Khan (0), Bhuvneshwar Kumar (0) fell in the same over.
