IPL 2018: New history made of Pant's bat
Delhi Daredevils, out of the play-off race, defeated Chennai Super Kings by 34 runs on Friday. With this victory, Delhi also broke the dream of becoming the number one Chennai.
Even if nothing has happened in Delhi for the season, Rishabh Pant, a trusted player of the team, has made a new history for the team.
Pant became the first batsman to score 600 runs for Delhi in one season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) Pant made 38 runs off 26 balls in a match against Chennai Super Kings on the Feroz Shah Kotla ground on Friday and set a record for making 600 runs in one season for his team.
Pant has so far scored 31 sixes in the 11th edition of IPL. Pant has played innings of 28, 47, 43, 85, 04, 04, 00, 79, 69, 18, 128, 61, 38 in this season. Despite all these shifts, Delhi's team has been out of the race for the playoffs.
Wicket-keeper batsman Pant made his unbeaten innings of 128 not out against 63 against Sunrisers Hyderabad on his home turf at Kotla ground with 15 fours and seven sixes.
The 20-year-old has played 37 matches in IPL so far, in which he has scored 1184 runs at an average of 34.82. It includes one century and seven fifties.
Gautam Gambhir was the first to score highest runs in a season for Delhi, who scored 534 runs in 14 matches at an average of 41.07 in 2008. It included five fifties. Delhi was in fourth place in the first season.
Former opener Virender Sehwag is at number three in this list. Sehwag had scored a total of 495 runs in 19 games for the Delhi in 2012 from 33.00 in 16 matches, including five fifties.
