IPL 11: Delhi Daredevils beat Rajasthan Royals by 4 runs
Delhi Daredevils defeated Rajasthan Royals by 4 runs in 32rd match of rain-affected IPL 11 in Firoz Shah Kotla of Delhi. Due to heavy rains in Delhi, the match was affected several times. With this defeat, Rajasthan's path to go in the playoffs has become very difficult, while maintaining the expectations of winning in the exciting encounter in Delhi and going to playoffs.

Due to rain, Rajasthan got the target of 151 runs in 12 overs, which they could not manage to achieve. Earlier, Rajasthan skipper Ajinkya Rahane won the toss and decided to bowl first. Rain came after tossing, due to which the match began with a delay of one-and-a-half hours. For this reason, the number of overs in the match was reduced from 20 to 18.

Rajasthan got tough target

Delhi's Rishabh Pant's 29-ball storm hit 69 runs and skipper Shreyas Iyer hit a brisk knock of 50 runs in 17.1 overs and scored 196 runs for the loss of six wickets. But once again the rain forced the match to stop. After that Rajasthan got the revised target of 151 runs in 12 overs. Butler for 67 runs in 26 balls with the help of four fours and seven sixes. But this innings was not enough to win the team.

Buttler pursuing the difficult target gave Rajasthan a very aggressive start. Together with Darcy Short (25 balls, 44 runs), he completed 50 runs of the team in 3.1 overs. At one time Rajasthan was fast moving forward to win the match.

Butler completed the half-century in just 18 balls. Amit Mishra stole Butler on the fourth ball of the seventh over at the hands of Pant. After this, the difficulties of Rajasthan increased and Sanju Samson became the victim of Bolt by making just three runs. Ben Stokes also came as soon as he came.

From here the Rajasthan seemed to lose the match. Finally, Krishnappa Gautam reached the boundary in six balls and brought a sixth root team closer to victory. Rajasthan needed 15 runs in the last over but the two bowlers who took two wickets did not allow Rajasthan to make the required runs.

Runs of runs of Delhi batsmen

Earlier, the first innings was played and the Delhi debut started poorly. Dhawal Kulkarni sent Munro to the pavilion without opening the account on the second ball of the first over.

However, young batsman Prithvi Shaw (47) combined with captain Iyer to give the team a good position by sharing 73 runs in 40 balls for the second wicket. Earth made some good shots in its innings. Shreyas Gopal sent the pavilion to the earth on the second ball of the eighth over. Earth gives a simple catch to Gopal on straight ball.

After leaving the earth, Pant stepped in and batted in his stormy style. Both of them continued to pick fast runs and targeted every bowler in Rajasthan. Pant completed his 50 runs in 23 balls including seven fours and three sixes.

Aiyar and Pant batted in that style that the team's score exceeded 150 in the 14th over. Iyer completed his half-century by scoring one run in the first ball of the 15th over, for which he faced 34 balls. After completing the half-century, Iyer played only one ball and on that same trip Rahul Tripathi caught his catch near the border. Iyer made three fours and as many sixes in his innings.

Aiyar shared a 93-run partnership with Pant in 42 balls. The end of Pant's stormy innings, Unadkat, caught by Ben Stokes on the last ball of the 15th over.

The difficulties of the playoffs for these teams

With this defeat, Rajasthan has reached the top spot in the points table with Mumbai Indians in the table, while winning 3 matches in 9 matches, Delhi has now moved to sixth position on the basis of better run-rate. Chennai's team has made it to the top of the points table by winning 6 out of 8 matches.
