The 45th match of the 11th season of the Indian Premier League retained the playoffs of the Royal Challengers Bangalore. RCB defeated Delhi Daredevils by five wickets in an important match played at Delhi's Ferozeshah Kotla ground. With this win RCB is also hoping to reach the play-off. However, RCB will have to win the remaining matches in the remaining three games and also wished for the defeat of the other teams.
Earlier, batting first, 181 runs were lost in four overs in 20 overs. Bangalore achieved the target by losing five wickets in 19 overs.
For Delhi, Virat Kohli scored 70 runs in 40 balls with seven fours and three sixes. AB de Villiers scored an unbeaten 72 in 37 balls with six sixes and four fours.
RCB's debut was poor and in the second over, Moin Ali lost the wicket. Ali could only make one run. In the next over, playing Sandeep Lemichane Parthiv Patel (6) in the next over, LBW gave the team a chance to celebrate, but then Kohli and Dewiliers shared the 118-run partnership with RCB in a strong position on the field. Kohli was caught behind Amit Mishra's wicket on the ball. Mandeep Singh (13) and Sarfaraz Khan (11) were not able to do much better, but in the end, Dewillers gave the team victory by six.
Earlier, Delhi gave a challenging score to Bangalore on the basis of Rishabh Pant (61) and Abhishek Sharma (46 not out).
At one time it seemed that Delhi would not even be able to reach 160, but Abhishek, playing his first IPL match, finally gave him a strong score.
Pant faced 34 balls in his innings and put five sixes and four sixes. Abhishek played 19 balls and hit three fours and four sixes. Captain Shreyas Iyer scored 32 runs.
Yugavendra Chahal took two wickets for Bangalore. Moin Ali and Mohammad Siraj got one success
