In their first Test, Ireland started well against Pakistan but by the end of the second day Pakistan came back. For Pakistan, Faheem Ashraf (61 not out) and Shadab Khan (52) made a return to the team by a century partnership. At the end of the second day's play in the first Test, the visitors had scored 268 runs in 76 overs at the loss of six wickets.
