BCCI in support of Virat, who went on to leave Afghanistan Test squad

NEW DELHI / BANGALORE: Ajinkya Rahane has been given the command of Team India for the only Test against Afghanistan on the last day. During this time, Indian team captain Virat Kohli will play county cricket for preparations for England tour.
Now the BCCI has come to support him with Virat's decision.
BCCI Working Secretary Amitabh Chaudhary urged the critics to understand that instead of being able to play Virat Kohli for not playing a Test against Afghanistan, it is understandable that he is doing this for good performance on the England tour.
Kohli will play county cricket for Surrey instead of Test against Afghanistan in June.
Chaudhary told reporters, "Virat had no such intention that he was out of this test. Due to England's challenge, we have to make better preparation and that is why I took this decision. "
He said, "We have decided to allow Virat and some other players to play county so that they can adapt themselves to England's situation. It is for limited overs cricket but not for cricket. "
He said, "Our focus is on Test cricket and we believe that this format is the center of cricket around the world."
