Although Afghanistan will play its debut against India in the Tests, but after this historic Test match, the two teams will not have a Test match till 2022.
There is no proposal for any Test match between the two countries in 2019-2022 in the new Pure Tour Tour Program (FTP).
Afghanistan was given the status of Test playing with Ireland in June last year. Afghanistan will play their first and historic Test match against India in Bangalore from June 14.
According to the new FTP, Afghanistan will play Test matches against other major countries including Australia and England, but the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) failed to ensure a Test match against India.
ACB Chief Executive Officer Shafiq Stanikai said other than the ongoing ICC meeting here, "It is difficult to ensure the match against India because his team is quite busy. We are not part of the test championship, we will have good start-up Test matches. In the new FTP, we are playing 14-18 Test matches. "
He said, "Against India, we will play only one test match in Bangalore according to the previous FTP. The new FTP will be effective from 2019 to 2022. "
He said that Afghanistan will play in the next FTP next to the home and opposition team against England, Australia, West Indies, Zimbabwe, Ireland and Bangladesh. He said, "The series does not come under the ICC Test Championship, this series will be played which will be played at Home and Away."
He said that Afghanistan is also considering playing Day-Night matches. He said, "No decision has been taken on this. But we will try, we want to do it. "
The ICC's Chief Executive Committee has prepared the FTP but after the consent of the ICC Board it will be made public.
