They had somehow not been able to muster up the intensity shown in the better of their league stage campaign and to some extent their highly-rated bowling attack also looked off-coloured in the previous three games.

It was the Super Kings who halted Sunrisers' six-game winning streak with a comprehensive eight-wicket drubbing on May 13 in Pune.

Sunrisers have depended totally on their captain Kane Williamson, who has been in terrific form to rise to the number two slot in the leading run-getters' list with 661 runs at just over 60 per game.

Only he and Shikhar Dhawan (437 runs), who took some time to get going, have shown consistency with the bat in contrast to their bowling attack which, barring the last few games, has been the talking point of the season.

Sunrisers will need their middle order, especially Manish Pandey, to take up more responsibility to counter the Super Kings' thrust.

In bowling they have depended mostly on seamers Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Sidharth Kaul and Sandeep Sharma as well as on overseas spinners Rashid Khan and Shakib Al Hasan.

The Knight Riders have outplayed Rajasthan both in the home and away games this season and will ride into this encounter with the confidence that they could pull off the win once again.

If it was a seven-wicket win at Jaipur last month, Kolkata notched up a comprehensive six-wicket win over their rivals a week ago at Edens gardens en route to sealing their playoff berth.

With three wins on the trot, Kolkata Knight Riders are on a roll as they clinched the last-four berth for a sixth time.

From posting the highest total of the season to stunning table-toppers Sunrisers Hyderabad in their last match, it has been a no-nonsense approach for the Dinesh Karthik-led side.

To make it easier for them, Kolkata are the only team from the four qualifiers to get the home advantage in the Eliminator.

The winner of the first eliminator will face the loser of Qualifier 1 between Sunrisers and Chennai Super Kings in the second Qualifier -- also to be held at Kolkata -- which will decide the second entrant of the final.

Champions of the inaugural edition in 2008, Rajasthan, on the other hand, have been heavily reliant on the alignment of their stars for their passage into the play-offs.

Minus their two top English star performers -- Jos Buttler and Ben Stokes who were called for national duty -- Rajasthan were written off by many, but they managed to upset Royal Challengers Bangalore in their final league game on May 19 to keep their slender hopes alive.

The win, however, was still not enough as they needed two results to go in their favour to qualify for the play-offs.

Their prayers were answered exactly the way they wanted when the other contenders -- Mumbai Indians and Kings XI Punjab -- were eliminated after losing their respective matches and Rajasthan advanced to the play-off in a dramatic way.

But in the Eliminator stage, which is a virtual quarterfinal, there's no margin for error and the Ajinkya Rahane-led side have to rely on their resources.

First challenge for them will be to conquer the spin challenge of Sunil Narine, Piyush Chawla and Kuldeep Yadav, who haunted them with an IPL career-best 4/20 in their six-wicket defeat here.

Going through a prolonged lean patch, skipper Rahane (324 runs at 27.00) will be the key to Rajasthan's success.

He will look to lead from the front and hope that the likes of Sanju Samson and in-form opener Rahul Tripathi come good on a pitch that promises to be full of runs and would also favour the team batting second.

KKR will have to stymie the South African clean-hitting wicketkeeper-batsman Heinrich Klaasen who will look to play the finishing role for RR.

Karthik has been terrific as the new captain for KKR, playing the finisher's role for the team in most of the games with six unbeaten knocks.

Leading by example, Karthik has been their top run-getter with 438 runs at an average of 54.78 (strike rate 149.48).

Belligerent as an opener and smart with his spin bowling, Trinidadian Sunil Narine, a two-time IPL winner with KKR, is once again proving to be their most valuable player.

With Chris Lynn restraining his stroke making for a dodgy shoulder, Narine has complemented well with a strike rate of 189.01 to give them a fiery start.

Leading women players like Kiwi Suzie Bates, Aussies Alyssa Healy, Beth Mooney, Ellyse Perry, Megan Schutt and England's Danielle Wyatt will be part of the game which will take place before the Qualifier 1 between Chennai Super Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad.

"It is very exciting for all of us to be playing this exhibition match and thankful to BCCI for organising such a unique match and it is a stepping show to the IPL. And hopefully, we will put up a good show and audience and BCCI people will think of having a IPL," Mandhana told reporters.

"Everyone wants to put up a good show and bring women's cricket to the world. This is the first-ever match we will be playing with foreign players on Indian soil. Everyone is excited to part of this historical moment. We all are looking forward to put up a good show so that we can express ourselves in front of audience and BCCI that IPL will be good to watch also." 

Mandhana believes that a women's IPL can take place with four teams but admits that there aren't enough players for an eight-team tournament.

"Well we cannot have eight teams, but we can have an IPL of 4-5 teams to start with, definitely not eight teams, not right now.

"Four to five teams, to start with is a good initiative, because when men's IPL started, first two seasons only foreigners scored and later on we started developing our bench-strength, you never know that same can happen with women's cricket.

"Through IPL its easier to develop the bench-strength. The girls will be playing with all the foreign players along with us and they will learn much more quicker and the bench strength will be more quicker...," explained Mandhana.

Similarly, dashing batter Harmanpreet Kaur feels that the players were waiting for this kind of a match since a long time.

"We are very excited and were waiting since a long time when we could play an IPL like tournament. We are happy that we have got an opportunity tomorrow and hopefully we will get a good match tomorrow." 

Asked whether India has players that could make up four teams for Women's IPL, Kaur answered positively saying, "Yes I do think." 

"We have 20 girls who are representing India - be it T20, 50 over apart from it there is India A team. We do have 30-35 girls. Everything else depends on tomorrow's match and how we get response from the public. And if there is good response, BCCI is very keen to form such a T20 tournament from next year.

"Earlier there were not many players. But last two years we have got tournaments and BCCI has organized camps, so now there 30-35 girls who can strictly focus on the League, it is starting tomorrow and in the years to come we can get a good tournament," she explained.

Kiwi Suzie Batez also feels that in the future Women's IPL could be a reality.

"Just so excited for all the girls to have an opportunity to play tomorrow and in the future we can have women's IPL and more players and more Indian players get an opportunity," she said.

Batez admits that though it is an exhibition game, there will be a lot of nerves.

"So there's going to be a lot of nerves. We want a really good game for cricket. But look, I'm sure girls and going to be excited, and some girls are going to want to shine in the spotlight.

"That's what we want to see. We've seen it in the men's game, that players just love the hype and crowds getting into it and such things," she signed off.
