Former Indian batsman Lalchand Rajput is the new coach of the Zimbabwe cricket team. Zimbabwe Cricket announced this. However, Rajput currently will be with the team for three months, whether or not he will be the coach of the team or not depends on his performance.

Rajput has been given new responsibility in place of former India captain Heath Streak, the Zimbabwe Cricket Board dismissed all the coaching staff with Streak after consistent poor performance of the team. Let us know that due to poor performance Zimbabwe did not even have a place in the 2019 World Cup.

The first challenge before Rajput is quite difficult. Zimbabwe has to play T20 trilogy against Australia and Pakistan in July.

In a statement issued by the JC, he said, "Lalchand Rajput will take charge of team coaching with immediate effect before the triangular T-20 series along with the upcoming Pakistan and Australia."

Let us tell you that Lalchand Rajput was with Afghanistan cricket for two years. He said that Cricket Zimbabwe showed interest in me and asked me to become a coach, I have accepted it even though this is a three-month contract for now and after that the two parties will meet the decision on the future.

Let us know that Rajput has been the manager of the Indian team that won the first T20 World Cup in 2007. In the last Ranji season, he was also associated with Assam. If there is talk of IPL then he has also coached for the Mumbai Indians team. Lalchand Rajput has played 2 Test and 4 ODIs for India.
