The Indian team was announced on Tuesday for the sole test match against Afghanistan on June 14. Mikabala will be played at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore.
In the absence of regular captain Virat Kohli, Ajinkya Rahane has been given the command of the team. Virat will be playing with English county club Surrey during this match.
After making a triple hundred against England, batsman Karun Nair has made a comeback in history.
The team was selected at the All India Selection Committee meeting of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) here.
The selection committee also gave young fast bowler Shardul Thakur a chance in the Test team.
Ishant Sharma has also been included in the team. The committee has also given rest to Rohit Sharma, Bhubaneswar Kumar and Jaspreet Bumrah.
